Four former cricketers are on Misbah's short list for Pakistan's Chief Selector.

The selection of the chief selector is crucial since it will have a direct bearing on the make-up of the teams for both the next Asia Cup and the ICC World Cup 2023

.Misbah-ul-Haq, a former captain of Pakistan, is expected to put forth four candidates for the critical role of chief selector for the country's men's cricket team.

Sources claim that former cricketers Mushtaq Ahmed, Mohammad Wasim, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Azhar Ali have been carefully chosen by Misbah, who was recently appointed as an advisor to Chairman PCB Management Committee Zaka Ashraf, to be considered for the position of chief selector.

Azhar Ali

At the age of 25, Azhar played in his first Test match at Lord's against Australia in 2010. He quickly reached his first Test half-century. He would go on to record 34 additional half-centuries and surpass the 100-run threshold 19 times.

Azhar, 37, is the only Pakistani batsman to record a triple century in a pink-ball Test match. He accomplished this accomplishment in 2016 in Dubai against the West Indies. His greatest Test cricket score is an undefeated 302, which is still standing.

In the course of his 12-year career, Azhar has also scored at least one hundred runs in Australia, Bangladesh, England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, and 226 against Bangladesh in Dhaka (May 2015) and 205 not out against Australia in Melbourne (December 2016).
