According to information provided by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of gold (24 carats) will decrease by Rs800 per tola and settle at Rs224,500.

The price of gold increased by $3 to reach $1,965 per ounce on the global market, where prices were also on the rise.
Market observers credit both the jump in global markets and the weakening of the Pakistani Rupee for the steep rise in domestic gold prices. The PKR has lost significant value versus the US dollar during a 7-day losing streak. It decreased by PKR 1.11 during this time, reaching PKR 287.92 versus the US dollar at the close of the interbank foreign currency market. This was a reduction from the closing rate of PKR 286.81 the previous Friday.
